Brenden is going to be taking the CompTIA A+ Certification

My son Brenden is trying to break into the computer business. He has a little computer experience, but overall he’s starting from scratch. It’s kind of cool that he’s following in his dad’s footsteps, so I’m trying to help him out as much as I can.

I suggested he start by studying for and taking the CompTIA A+ certification. I figured it would give him a good foundation. I’m also having him build and troubleshoot old desktops and servers I have around the house—basically getting him exposure to what he would do on a day-to-day basis as a basic IT administrator.

Some of the items you’ll see on the site are for him. Others are just good to have as refreshers for me. I was amazed to see some of the changes in the test material since I took it 20 years ago. I’ve been learning some stuff myself!

Anyway, any suggestions are appreciated, and if you’re looking for a good IT admin, I might have one for you soon.
